The story of Toro Albalá winery is placed in in the heart of Southern Cordoba, where a small wine grower named José María Toro Albalá had the great idea of keeping aged wines to create wine treasures destined for the most demanding palates. Along with the enologist Antonio Sánchez, the brand gained its own identity. With consistent quality and a classic taste, his specialities are the amontillados and Don Pedro Ximénez wines.
This was confirmed by the Don P.X. Convento Selección 1946, which was awarded 100 points by wine guru Robert Parker in his magazine Wine Advocate.
Situated in an old power plant, their very famous fino wine is named “Eléctrico”, made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes and matured using the traditional Andalusian “criadera and solera” method.
Nevertheless, one of their best creations is the collection of artisan single vintages. Special vintages from 1931, 1955 or 1968 can be found in this collection.
