The Espelette pepper is a protected variety from the French Basque Country, and every year the harvest is celebrated and the peppers are hung out to dry, decorating the entire town. The peppers are then ground into a powder protected by governmental law. Peanuts are traditionally given at bars with drinks, and we love the spicy kick the Espelette pepper brings.
