Cucú Verdejo (Castilla y León)

In a perfect location due to its land of siliceous sand and pebbles, with a layer of clay and subsoil, as well as limestone in its deepest layers.

At an altitude of 718 meters, this is a vineyard of long winters and hot, dry summers, making it necessary for the vines seek out water sources in the deepest parts of the ground.

It is here that we obtain the authentic expression of the grape, thanks for eco-friendly production, in order to respect the environment and the biodiversity of the vineyard.

In 2013, convinced of the favorable conditions of the old vineyard, we found some very peculiar parcels of land in Alcazarén (Valladolid) that had grapevines that were of an unknown age. The vines had probably been around for about 150 years, at an altitude of 770 meters, with old clones that barely had anything to do with the clone selections from the new plantation in Rueda. Sandy loam soil, located within la Comarca Tierra de Pinares.
