This project was created by Castillian wine-making legend, Mariano García, who was chief winemaker at Vega Sicilia for a number of years. Mariano is the real deal, with intimate knowledge of the vines and the different soils and slopes of this part of Spain. And he puts this knowledge to great effect. His recipe is pretty much always the same: Excellent old vine grapes, solid extraction then a decent stay in mostly new oak. Very solid wines which can handle the oak and are built to last.
The Vendimia Seleccionada is made from a selection of some of the best Temepanillo grapes from the vintage and is aged approx 32 months in French and US oak. Very concentrated and classy.
